Limited space. <strong>FREE</strong> but requires registration. <u>Please email info@ektaacenter.org for details on registration</u><br><br><em><strong>Saturday Sep 3</strong></em> – Three progressive performances featuring a coming together of tradition, contemporary, post modern and inter disciplinary elements into one evening.<br><br><strong>Walking in Orange @6pm</strong> – a collaborative piece featuring dancers from Irvine Valley College, Orange Coast College and Arpana Dance Company. Performance at <strong>Bill Barber Park</strong> in Irvine is <strong><u>FREE to the public</u></strong>.<br><br><strong>Bharata Natyam Re-imagined@645pm </strong>- an exploration of the idiom using musical collaborations. <div class=”paragraph” style=”text-align:left;”><span>’Dance Conversations 3′ was a 2 part project that examined the ways that Indian Performance Practices can enable us to rethink the city we live in (Irvine, California) and its relationship to the various communities that inhabit it. The first part of the project was a collaboration with the Music Dept at UCI, Kanniks Kannikeswaran, a renown composer and conductor, Arpana Dance Company and members of the community. The project explored a new dimension in Indian Dance and Music that makes more meaning in the 21st century and in the local community. It provided a fresh look and perspective that allows more access without being relegated or marginalized as too traditional or irrelevant.</span><br><br><strong>Preview:</strong><br></div>
