A landmark and rare gathering of pioneering Bharata Natyam icons from across regions, this evening celebrates and preserves their unique artistic journeys.

My association with the Kunhiramans began in 2005, during the first edition of Dance Conversations – Indian Dance in India: Past, Present & Future. Kunhiraman presented Kathakali, a rich dance-theatre tradition rarely performed in the United States. Later, in 2011, the Kalanjali dancers showcased the Kalakshetra style in Ektaa Center’s Nachle India series - Varnam, which explored the different styles of Bharata Natyam.
